Sand filters is one of the most frequently used techniques of removing suspended materials from water.
The filtration assembly is composed of multiple layers of sands with varying sizes and specific gravities. Typically a sand filtration assembly has a dirt holding capacity that ranges between 3 to 6 Total Suspended Solids/ metre square.
Once the filters are clogged by suspended particles the water's flow is reversed to remove the clogged material. This step is commonly known as backwashing a sand filter.
We offer our clients specialized sand filters for water and wastewater treatment systems.
